After her husband's death, Kitty continued to travel to Kerala and serve as a forwarding agent for this God-honoring mission. There is a caveat within the MacKinnon work with the orphanage in Thalavady. (The orphanage today is maintained by Kerala Christian Mission.) A little seven year-old girl named Sheela was chosen from a photograph and adopted by Jeff and Dana Snyder of Perry, Ohio. Jim MacKinnon brought Sheela to her parents, and she eventually attended Kentucky Christian College where she met Joe Franklin. As a result of their gratitude to God for Sheela, Joe's family, including parents Tom and Charlotte Franklin, have taken up the mantle of working with NLCM. Kitty MacKinnon has suffered with her health in recent years and could not continue as forwarding agent. Nearly every year for the past 6 years, Tom and Charlotte Franklin have led a team to visit the mission. A Bible conference is held each visit and most of the 19 churches are visited and encouraged. Contact us if you would be interested in visiting the mission in India. |
